These terms apply when you browse the “My First Planted Tree” platform or add a seedling. By submitting information, you agree to use the platform in accordance with these terms.

1. Purpose of the platform
The platform supports a project of the Environmental Information and Education Centre. It provides seedling submission, administrative review and a map with aggregate statistics.
2. Adding a seedling
To add a seedling, provide your first name, last name and seedling details. A phone number is optional; an email address, sign-in and code verification are not required. Reusing a phone number does not prevent another seedling submission.
Account, profile and sign-in features are currently disabled.
3. Accurate and appropriate information
Provide accurate contact and seedling details, select the real planting location and contact us if you find an error. Do not use another person’s identity or phone number without their permission.
4. Records, comments and photos
Submit only text and photos that you have the right to use and that relate to the project. Do not upload another person’s private information or material that is unlawful, harmful or abusive.
By submitting material, you allow the Centre to store and review it to operate the platform and project. Only approved seedling data that does not identify the participant may appear on the public map or in statistics; participant photos are not published publicly.
5. Review and moderation
A submitted seedling record starts as pending review. An authorised administrator may verify, correct, approve, reject or hide a record when it is incomplete, inaccurate, duplicated, unrelated to the project or harmful to platform security.
6. Acceptable use
- Do not try to bypass authentication, access restrictions or security controls;
- do not disrupt the platform, send harmful automated traffic or upload malicious code;
- do not use the platform to deceive another person, obtain their information or pursue an unlawful purpose;
7. Service operation
We aim to keep the platform working securely and reliably, but maintenance, defects or an external service interruption may temporarily limit availability. Features may change to meet project, security or technical needs.
8. External services and links
The map provider and other external links are also governed by the relevant provider’s terms. The platform does not control an external service’s availability or its independent handling of information.
9. Privacy and data deletion
The Privacy Policy explains how personal information is handled. To request deletion, follow the Data Deletion Instructions or use the contact channel below.
10. Changes to these terms
If these terms change, we will publish the updated text and date on this page. Contact us below if you have a question.
